Short Biography
Professor Sahraoui was born in Morocco. He received the M.Sc. degree in Physics from
the Nicolaus Copernicus University (Torun, Poland) in 1992 and received the Ph.D.
degree in Physics in 1996 from the University of Angers (France) and also from the
Nicolaus Copernicus University (in 1998). His Ph.D. thesis's were supervised by
Professors: Jaroslaw Zaremba (Torun, Poland) and Genevieve Rivoire (Angers, France) and
involved the third order nonlinear optical properties of new TTF derivatives. Professor
Sahraoui joined the Laboratory of Optical Properties of Materials and their
Applications (POMA) at the University of Angers in 1996 and since 2003 has held the
position of Professor of Physics.
Research interests and field of expertise
Research interests include utilization of nonlinear optics as a tool of diagnostic and characterization, particularly investigation
of new highly polarised compounds (organic and inorganic) including biomolecules for applications of nonlinear optics.
